Bea Da Point is a free mobile application that utilizes new technology, including Bluetooth 4.0 beacons, to create a unique and interactive experience for users. Through the app, users can earn points by watching ads, walking into stores, and purchasing items, which can be redeemed for cash coupons or gifts from specified categories. Additionally, the app provides users with the latest information from stores within a 50-meter radius.
What sets Bea Da Point apart is its focus on circular consumption. By promoting the concept of transforming daily life, the app encourages users to engage with advertisements, follow their favorite shops, and share ads on social platforms. Users can also earn points while making purchases at Beashops by scanning QR codes provided by the shop. The amount of points earned is equal to the value of their purchase, providing an incentive for users to shop at participating stores.
Becoming a Beashop is simple and straightforward. Shopkeepers can register an account on the Bea Da Point website and post their advertisements, including video links or posters. They can also set points for their advertisements, which can be purchased from RewardPointStation. By attaching iBeacons to their stores, every smartphone with the Bea Da Point app installed within the iBeacon range can connect and interact with the shop. iBeacons can be distributed to customers through various means, such as consuming at the shop, checking advertisements on the website, or simply walking into the shop during a specific time slot.
The Bea Da Point app provides a user-friendly interface, allowing users to choose from a wide variety of advertisements from different shops. It also features a map that locates all local shops with iBeacons, making it easier for users to discover new stores and promotions. The app also offers a backend platform for administrators to manage shop profiles, view reports, distribute points, and edit advertisements.
The Bea Da Point project, initiated in May 2014 and completed in June 2015 in Hong Kong, faced several challenges. The concept of virtual money (iBeacons) and the transformation of traditional shopping practices required careful planning and research. However, the innovative approach of Bea Da Point, combining technology, interactive advertisements, and rewards, has the potential to reshape the way consumers shop and engage with brands.
Bea Da Point has already gained recognition for its ingenuity and impact. In 2017, it was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Mobile Technologies, Applications, and Software Design category. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that incorporate best practices in art, science, design, and technology, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
Bea Da Point, with its focus on circular consumption and transforming daily life, is poised to revolutionize the shopping experience in Hong Kong and beyond. By combining technology, interactive advertisements, and rewards, it offers a unique and engaging platform for both consumers and merchants.
